SALT LAKE CITY

This is the Place State Park, Utah

When Brigham Young entered the Salt Lake Valley from the mouth of Emigration Canyon on July 4, 1847, he declared, "This is the right place." For years "This is the Place Monument" stood alone on the hill until the park was dedicated on January 4, 1996 to comemorate Utah's 100 years of statehood. Place to visit in the park include the Brigham Young Farmhouse, Visitors Center, and Old Deseret Village.
